Festival of the Lakes

Festival of the Lakes is no Milwaukee Summerfest, but the Indiana lake shore fest does pack in a lot of entertainment for your pleasure, mostly from popular throwback performers (sorry advanced generationals, the '90s are now considered throwback) including George Clinton, above, and Parliament Funkadelic, Los Lobos, Ozomatli and Shaggy. Why go: Also like Summerfest, there are plenty of activities that the whole family can enjoy including a carnival, Hot Rod and Custom Car Show and Mik Lurch Fishing Derby.

Reconsider: Your allegiance is to Chicago's lake shore.
