Ralph Stanley (Clinch Mountain Boys, Stanley Brothers) leads the band of bluegrass, roots and Americana musicians performing in the Retro Roots show at McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage. Stanley, called the voice of Appalachia, sang "O Death" on the Grammy Award-winning "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack (from the film starring George Clooney). Also on the lineup for Retro Roots is Jim Lauderdale. If you are not familiar with his work, you may know some of the songs he has written for artists including George Jones, the Dixie Chicks and George Strait. Bluegrass icons Seldom Scene round out the schedule.
