Watch 'The Simpsons' opening redone as pixel art

The opening sequence of "The Simpsons" is iconic. Which makes sense because it's been playing on TV everywhere since 1989. But it's hard to realize just how iconic it is until someone decides to re-create it in another style. Animators Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon have painstakingly re-created the opening sequence in the style of many video games from the 1990s, complete with an 8-bit version of Danny Elfman's theme song. Fans of old Nintendo games will find several references to "Super Mario Bros." among other gaming classics and many references to specific "Simpsons" episodes.
