NBC expands 'SNL 40th Anniversary Special' to more than three hours

NBC is already making a big deal of the 40th anniversary of "Saturday Night Live" — and now it's making it a little bigger. The network revealed late Thursday that it's expanding Sunday's "SNL 40th Anniversary Special" by 30 minutes, which means it will start at 8 p.m. and end at 11:30. The special — airing live on the East Coast but on tape on the West Coast — will be like a super-sized version of a regular "SNL," with live skits, taped segments and musical performances.
