Feb. 7: Of Montreal, 'Paralytic Stalks'

To be fair, I haven't listened thoroughly to and enjoyed an Of Montreal album since 2007's "Hissing Fauna Are you the Destroyer?" Their brand of psychedelic pop was catchy and depressing and wild and self-loathing all at the same time, danceable and just the perfect amount of weird. In recent songs the weirdness got too much for my taste, so fingers crossed this new effort (the band's 11th album) harks back to those earlier days. -- Sara Stewart
