( October 11, 2012 ) Sam Jones' black-and-white film captures the American alt-country band during the recording of -- and subsequent distribution squabbles involved with -- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, which ended up selling 500,000 copies and receiving raves from everyone who heard it after the album was initially rejected by Warner Music Group (they didn't think it was commercially viable enough). (Notably, the late multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jay Bennett left the band shortly after his work on the album.) |
