'Sopranos' actor James Gandolfini, 51, dies suddenly

Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton

Even though the great "Warrior" depressingly flopped at the box office, I'm still including Hardy (left) and Edgerton (right), as this year Hardy graduated to leading man known in America (he'll soon appear in "The Wettest County in the World" and "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy") after strong work in movies such as "Bronson" and "Inception." Edgerton, meanwhile, was the best thing about "The Thing" and has a big 2012 coming up, including a role as Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby."
