  17. "The Mighty Macs", the story of Immaculata College's 1972 National Championship Basketball Team Opens

    In 1972, tiny Immaculata College in suburban Philadelphia, made history by winning it's first of three straight natiional championships in college women's basketball.  The all women catholic school's basketball team, with little money and poor facilities, defied the odds. The teams story is being told in a major motion picture, the "Mighty Macs", which opens nationally Friday night.  The film premiered locally in Lancaster County at Penn Cinema, Manheim Towship.
