  7. What's hot today? DailyCandy in Los Angeles

IF YOU'RE one of DailyCandy's 2.5 million subscribers, you already know the online newsletter with its sly signature illustrations and chirpy, conspiratorial tone. Each piece reads like a whisper in the ear from a giddy chum who's always in the know -- the girl who told you where to score a one-of-a-kind feather headband and dragged you to an after-hours vegan cafe before the food fundamentalists flooded in. Even better, this gal pal never stands you up for a new beau or a better plan. She's just one click away, with a tip on where to buy a vintage croquet set or skinny leather leggings.

"LOOK at this suit!" said stylist Jessica Paster, holding up a double-breasted, summer-weight wool cream blazer and straight-legged trousers, a sample from the forthcoming M by Madonna collection for H&M. "Put it with a pair of Louboutins and a pair of yellow diamond earrings and who's gonna know if it's Dolce & Gabbana or not? No one."

  15. A Christmas wish: Get back to basics

It's not even Christmas yet, and I've already gained 5 pounds, most of it on my face (see dotted sketch). Five pounds doesn't sound like a lot, unless it's all in your jowls. Besides, I have been gaining 5 pounds every Christmas for about 20 years now, which adds up to 100 pounds in my face alone. Christmas in your face. Is there any other way?

" Hannah Montana: The Movie" is not so much a movie as it is a trial balloon to see if Miley Cyrus, with her big blue eyes, exceptionally white teeth and increasingly long limbs, can hold the big screen as effectively as she has the small screen. The answer is yes.

  21. Model Gerren Taylor's short but stunning fashion career seen in 'America the Beautiful'

GERREN TAYLOR was still playing with Barbie dolls when she walked the runway for the first time at Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2003. Just 12 at the time, she was the youngest person ever to be represented by the runway division of L.A. Models. Although most agencies require girls to be 14, it's not unheard of for 12-year-olds to get work. Actress Milla Jovovich made the cover of Vogue at 12, and Brooke Shields, Gisele Bündchen and Kate Moss were all stars before they turned 16.
