1. Where to get your Batman fix on TV this weekend

Channel Guide Magazine
And where … is the Batman? Well, most notably the Caped Crusader will be kicking ass at the box office starting Friday, July 20, as the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, premieres in theaters. But if...

3. Q&A: 'Ruby Sparks' star/writer Zoe Kazan

Some have asked Zoe Kazan why “Ruby Sparks,” a comedy/drama about a male author who considers if and how to change a character he writes and then comes to life as his real girlfriend, doesn’t feature a female writer controlling a man.

5. Tenacious D performs at Mohegan Sun on July 3

Novelty act, comedy duo or legendary rock band? It doesn't matter: entertainers Jack Black and Kyle Gass released their first studio album in six years, Rize of the Fenix, in May, and now they're on the road supporting it, including a stop at Mohegan Sun Arena on July 3. The album, which features Dave Grohl on drums, was accompanied by a hilarious video for "To Be The Best," which included cameos by Grohl, Yoshiki, Josh Groban, Jimmy Kimmel, Maria Menounos, Tim Robbins and Val Kilmer. And make no mistake: these guys have musical and vocal chops to go with their comedic ones.

7. The Raven

When I hear about an actor being cast to play somebody famous, I never really analyze it before seeing the movie. I didn’t think Jim Carey looked anything like Andy Kaufman, and he was great (and somehow got robbed of an Oscar nomination). Val Kilmer was great as the dark singer/poet Jim Morrison (in the horrible movie).

13. John Carter

It’s strange that over the last week I’ve been hearing from friends that bought their Comic Con tickets or ones that got shut out while trying. It’s that crowd that has been waiting for the adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character John Carter (would it have killed them to call the movie John Carter From Mars?). The Disney folks invested $250 million into this. Yikes.

19. Random thoughts on Batman

There is a very serious condition in Pittsburgh right now. It’s an infection called Batman-mania, and it’s spreading all around the city like Arizona wild fires. Over the last few weeks, I’ve felt a little like a war correspondent...

23. The Devil's Double

When Saddam Hussein tells his son Uday in this film “I should have killed you the day you were born,” it’s rather powerful. He has just grabbed him by the testicles and was ready to slice him up. Uday’s in a hospital having his stomach pumped after too many pills.
