'Operation Dumbo Drop'

You've probably forgotten this Disney flick about Green Berets delivering a goodwill elephant to a small village during the Vietnam war -- and Danny Glover, Ray Liotta and Dennis Leary are probably just fine with that. But the story behind the movie is true: The Green Berets did air-drop two elephants to a Vietnamese village in 1968: and <a href="http://spotlights.fold3.com/2011/10/31/elephant-air-drops-in-vietnam/" target="blank"><b>here are the pictures to prove it</b></a>. <br><br>Oh, and the real operation wasn't called "Dumbo Drop" -- it was called <a href="http://www.hmh-463-vietnam.com/pg68/Clip1photob.html" target="blank"><b>"Operation Bathroom"</b></a>, in reference to the unholy noises coming from the elephant's nether regions. Apparently, the tranquilizer used to sedate the elephants gave them a serious case of gas.
