My Super Ex-Girlfriend
Opens Wide: Friday, July 21
Matt (Luke Wilson) thinks his girlfriend Jenny (Uma Thurman) is too needy so he breaks up with her. He discovers that she's actually an all-powerful superhero and that she's as vindictive as she was clingy, as G-Girl begins to make his life hell. This is somewhat familiar territory for director Ivan Reitman who's had both successes ("Ghost Busters") and failures ("Evolution") mixing unexpected genres with broad comedy. The two leads are already capable enough and Reitman's surrounded them with a funny ensemble that includes Eddie Izzard, Anna Faris ("Scary Movie") and Rainn Wilson ("The Office"). Will all of those reliable laugh-getters help Reitman to his first directing hit since "Dave" back in 1993? The script was written by veteran "Simpsons" scribe Don Payne.
