Planning to vote in the local elections March 12? Monday is your last chance to register to vote.
Cities in Broward and Palm Beach counties holding municipal elections March 12 are Fort Lauderdale, Coconut Creek, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Miramar, Oakland Park, Parkland, Plantation, Sunrise, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach.
Here's what residents need to know:
• Voter registrations must be postmarked or dropped off at the Supervisor of Elections Office by 5 p.m. Monday. The registration form is available online at browardsoe.org or pbcelections.org. Residents can also register at a public library or DMV locations.
• The Broward Supervisor of Elections office already shipped out nearly 50,000 absentee ballots for the March 12 elections. Additional ballots will be mailed out on a daily basis until March 8, but residents must make their request for a ballot by 5 p.m. March 6. Palm Beach County will begin sending out its absentee ballots on Feb. 22.
• The supervisor of elections main office must receive absentee ballots by 7 p.m. March 12 or by 5 p.m. at any satellite office. Absentee ballots will not be accepted at polling places on Election Day. An absentee ballot postmarked March 12 will not count.
• Absentee ballots are available for pick up, by request, up to five days prior to the day of the election or they can be picked up on March 12. Ballot pickup in Broward is at the Lauderhill office. Ballot pickup in Palm Beach County is at the main office in West Palm Beach.
• Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 12. Early voting is not being offered for this election.
