“Crown of Clowns,” an exhibit featuring illustrative paintings by Jeff Buckholz of Seymour and Andrew Werner of Bridgeport, will be on exhibit starting on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. The opening reception will be on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Mercurial Gallery, 11 Library Place in Danbury.
An artist talk will be on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. The show will be up until Friday, Dec. 14.
The press release from the gallery is fun. It reads: “The gallery and artists welcome you into an archaic abyss that would knock the cigarette filter from Hunter S. Thompson’s lips were he with us today. Werner and Buckholz's illustrations will lead you into a world of emotion, narrative, and psychedelia that will, without a doubt, incite deep notions of wonder and excitement.”
Gallery hours are Wednesday and Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.
