Convicted serial rapist David Pollitt was arrested on violation of probation charges Sept. 10, based on GPS readings the state said showed he had strayed too far from his sister's Southbury
The arrest caused almost as much commotion as when he was first released from prison and it was learned he would be livin gin Southbury.
But by the time he was in court Sept. 12, the state conceded its arrest warrant was based on faulty data from the contractor that provides GPS monitoring services to the state.
Pollitt, who had maintained he followed the conditions of his probation, was released and the state launched an investigation of GPS monitoring.
