July 26 - 27 - Old Lyme Midsummer Festival. Two-day event takes place in heart of Old Lyme's historic district. All activities take place at three locations along Lyme Street: museum, Lyme Art Association, Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. Friday at 7 p.m., pack a picnic and enjoy free concert on banks of Lieutenant River. Saturday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., museum features outdoor market modeled after those in French villages: "Market En Plein Air" features flowers, fruits, vegetables, breads, fine cheeses, wines, herbs, meats and specialty foods.
