This makes at least four high profile Connecticut multi-millionaires in the last 32 years to go down in flames trying to buy a political office; Joel Schiavone, Ned Lamont, Tom Foley and Linda Mcmahon. Can we safely say that we voters can't be bought? Well, let's put it this way, a majority can't be bought. There are still a large number of misguided, desperate people who will gladly sell their vote for a promise. Pathetic.
With a personal expenditure of nearly $100 million in two campaigns, Linda McMahon's hubris has known no limits, but maybe this time she'll take a hard look at her political fortune which is worth exactly $0.00 at this writing. I suppose she could still be elected Greenwich dog catcher, or some such office in Fairfield County. That's where most of the Connecticut Republicans live and they've demonstrated they'll vote for virtually anybody as long as he or she is in the Grand Old Party.
