John Freedman, theater critic of The Moscow Times, and an expert on contemporary Russian theater, will be visiting Yale School of Drama next Thursday and Friday, Feb. 2 and 3.
He will attend some playwriting and directing classes, meeting informally with students and faculty, and give a public talk entitled “Politics, Theater, and Political Theater in Russia Today ,” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 2, in the Yale Repertory Theatre's Lounge.
Freedman is a longtime colleague of YSD/YRT; he worked on the 2004 Yale Rep production of Chekhov’s "Rothschild’s Fiddle" and also worked with us on last summer’s residency of YSD playwrights and faculty at the Playwright and Director Center in Moscow.
