What To Watch
Shabazz's status: Napier played the second half against Louisville despite a shoulder injury and was ineffective. He will probably try Saturday, but he must be watched carefully. It's a game-time decision.
Reflection in rebounding: Pitt is much like UConn in that it has big men who are not effective rebounders and is trying to develop team-rebounding methods.
Turnovers: Pittsburgh guards protect the ball well and force turnovers. Again, UConn has similar strengths. How they match up, especially if Napier is not himself, will be a key.
Calhoun watch: Omar Calhoun scored 20 against Louisville but turned over the ball too many times. UConn needs him to be more productive, and less mistake-prone.
Depth charge: Coach Jamie Dixon has been using 10 players, including Durand Johnson and Trey Zeigler, more frequently off the bench in Big East games.
Road blues: This has always been a particularly tough venue for UConn, which is 1-5 in the Petersen Center. The Huskies haven't won there since 2005.
