Spokesman: New Haven Police Officer Stabbed During Arrest

NEW HAVEN — A city police officer was stabbed in the arm Monday by a suspected drug dealer he was trying to apprehend, according to a city official. Officer Paul Prusinski was treated in the emergency room at Yale-New Haven Hospital and released, city spokesman Laurence Grotheer said. The suspect, Havier Gonzalez, 31, also was treated at Yale-New Haven for injuries he suffered during his arrest. He is facing multiple drug-related charges, as well as assault on a police officer.
