Amy Anna LeBard, 87, of Baltimore Street, Mount Holly Springs, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at her home.
Mrs. LeBard was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Enhaut, Pa., and was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Koch) Mabius.
Amy Anna LeBard was many things to many people: Loving sister, beloved wife, treasured mother, most precious grandmother, delighted great-grandmother, and loyal friend.
She didn't preach her faith, she lived it, and through her, Divine love was magnified. She made all who knew her better. Her talent for loving without judging increased her sphere of influence. Her family grew as she drew others to her. Across cultures and continents, be it Japan, England, Australia or throughout the United States, she embraced new experiences and charmed all who met her. She used her powers for good. Her adventurous spirit, ready laugh, and kindness radiated out. She let her light shine, because she was lit from within with joy. Her legacy is carried every day in the hearts of her family and friends.
She was the widow of Waverly E. LeBard (2008) and is survived by a son, Dr. Waverly J. LeBard and wife, Cherie, of Waynesboro, Pa.; two daughters, Amy L. Swett and husband, James, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Kitti Jo Summerscales and husband, Dr. Rodney D. Summerscales, of New Bloomfield, Pa.; two brothers, Wilhelm Mabius and wife, Delores, of Summerdale, Pa., and Thomas Mabius of Shermans Dale, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Meredith M. Whitehead and husband, Douglass, of Fairfax, Va., Waverly E. LeBard and wife, Jill Bellenger, of Alexandria, Va., Rodney L. Summerscales and wife, Tiffany, of Berrien Springs, Mich., Amy Richelle Swett of Philadelphia, Pa., Charles A. Summerscales and wife, Lynnea, of Harrisburg, Pa., Amanda Lee Burger and husband, Justin, of Carlisle, Pa., Kelleigh Anne Juers and husband, Mark, of Carlisle, and Nicholas J. Swett of Falls Church, Va.; six great-grandchildren, Moxie Layne Juers of Carlisle, Rowyn Alexandria Burger of Carlisle, Calliope Rebecca Summerscales of Harrisburg, Douglass L. Whitehead and wife, Megan, of Warrenton, Va., and Nicholas J. and Kathryn J. Whitehead of Fairfax.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at Harrisburg First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 424 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg. Pastor Keith Ingram will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be with her late husband in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
Arrangements are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Homes, New Bloomfield/Duncannon, Pa.
