Black history program Sunday at Memorial Rec

A Black History Month program will be held at Memorial Recreation Center, 109 W. North Ave., Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Members of the Doleman Heritage Museum will be in attendance and will display their art exhibit to the public.

Speakers scheduled for the event are several community members, including Linda Brooks, Stephen Bockmiller, Faith Crumbly, Charles Carey and the Pride Family.

There will also be a performance from piano solo artist Matthew Murray of Barbara Ingram School for the Arts.

Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.



Kid’s fun night set at Bridge of Life

Kid’s Fun Night will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at Bridge of Life, 14 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

The event will include food and games.

It is for those ages 5 to 11.

Love feast planned Saturday

Zion Baptist Church, 61 Bethel St., will host its annual love feast Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.

A free turkey dinner will be provided for anyone who would like to attend.

The meal and fellowship are provided by Pastor Rickey A. Smith Sr. and his church members.



Black history program to be held Sunday, Feb. 17

New Life World Ministries will host a black history program Sunday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, 901 Dual Highway.  

This year’s keynote speaker will be Pastor Jamaal Cooper.

This year’s guest will be Thomas Sligh of Treasures of the Heart Ministries, Frederick Md., and a skit will be provided by the youth of New Life Ministries.

The event will include praise, dance, song, readings from the Bible.
