Each month, one student from each classroom at Hickory Elementary School is named a Character Counts! Good Citizens of the Month.
Students are nominated by classroom teachers for demonstrating one of the six pillars of character. Students were nominated in the month of October for displaying the character trait of responsibility. The students selected and their parents/guardians were honored with a celebration assembly Oct. 24.
Students nominated in November for displaying the character trait of citizenship are as follows: Nicholas Minnick, Spencer Kaufman, Anluis Santiago, Sydney Mills. Grace Perkins, Wyatt McKean, Sydney Gardner, Justin Ahmadian, Ryan Miller, Athena Pike, Noah Baker, Emily Shartzer, Brooke Cline, Bailee Stevens and Andrew Cunningham.
Cookie sale planned
The third annual Kinder Haven cookie sale is planned Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St., Williamsport. Cookies, along with cash-and- carry Christmas items, will be available for purchase.
Proceeds will benefit the Kinder Haven Day Care Center at Zion Lutheran Church.
Parents of Washington County Public Schools students, be sure to note the following on your calendars: Washington County schools will be closed, beginning Friday, Dec. 23, for winter break. Classes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 3.
