Country breakfast planned

The Washington County Agricultural Education Center and the Rural Heritage Museum will hold a country breakfast buffet fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 10, from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the ag center’s multipurpose building.

The buffet will include sausage, bacon, hunters stew, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fried potatoes, sausage gravy and biscuits, pudding, juice, milk, coffee and tea.

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $7 for those 65 and older, $5 for those ages 6 to 12 and are free for those 5 and younger.

Trainfest planned

The Hagerstown Model Railroad Museum will host a trainfest (model train sale) Saturday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike.

Admission costs $4. It will be free for those younger than 12.

This event is held to promote the hobby of model train collecting and to raise funds to continue the restoration of the historic Antietam Station in Sharpsburg.

Market Day at Lappans

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will host Market Day at Lappans Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring take-out food, crafts, Christmas gifts for sale, and a bake sale table.

Shoppers can choose product lines such as Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Longaberger baskets, photos and cards, and Cookie Lee.

Home-made soup will be available for carryout (no eat-in this year).

Christmas decorations and ornaments will be for sale.

Children and adults can make their own jewelry at the beading table.

Proceeds support the youth group mission trip for the summer of 2013.
