Fire company to hold breakfast
Start a cold winter’s day Saturday at the Potomac Valley Fire Co. in the community of Dargan where you can get an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast for $5 from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the fire hall.
Breakfast includes sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. Children eat free.
Ruritan to hold potpie dinner
District 12 Ruritan, at the corner of Manor Church and Breathedsville roads, Fairplay, will hold an all-you-can-eat potpie dinner Saturday from noon until 4 p.m.
The menu consists of chicken and beef potpie, choice of coleslaw or applesauce, dinner roll, tea, coffee. Desserts will be sold.
Tickets cost $7 for adults and $3.50 for children younger than 12. For more information, call 301-582-1005.
Food Pantry open Saturdays
The South Washington County Food Pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro will be open the second and fourth Saturday each month from 9 to 11 a.m., starting this Saturday and Jan. 22.
The food pantry is supported by 13 local churches for the people in the South Washington County area. The Saturday hours are in addition to the weekly South Washington County Food Pantry’s Thursday hours of 1- 3 p.m.
Zumba offered at Mt. Nebo
Instructor Anita Binder will offer Zumba classes at the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church Activity Center in Boonsboro Saturdays, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., beginning Saturday, Jan. 15.
Cost is $30 per session ($3 per class) for 18 and above. Drop-in fee is $5 per class. Children 13 to 18 must be accompanied by a parent and have signed a required waiver.

Ruritan to hold oyster, ham, turkey dinner
The Rohrersville Ruritan Club will hold an oyster, ham and turkey dinner Saturday, Jan. 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Rohrersville Ruritan Community Schoolhouse (five miles south of Boonsboro on Md. 67).
Meal is served with mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, sauerkraut and dessert. Please bring containers for carryouts. Cost is $14 for adults; $7 for children ages 6 to 12; 5 and younger eat free.
Willison to speak on ’Happy New Year’
Jackie Willison will speak on “Happy New Year” Friday, Jan. 14, at the Southeastern Senior Center on Mt. Vernon Dr. in Keedysville.
Lucie will conduct exercises Tuesday, Jan. 11, and Wednesday, Jan. 12.
