John "Jack" Freeman Chisholm Jr., 77, formerly of Cumberland, Md., and residing in Gaithersburg, Md., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, Md. He had been a resident of Homewood at Williamsport, Williamsport, Md., for several years.
Born Nov. 3, 1935, in Cumberland, Mr. Chisholm was the son of the late John Freeman Chisholm Sr. and Mary Helena (Adams) Chisholm. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Jack retired from Allegany College of Maryland and was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Cumberland. He was also a member of Bedford Road Volunteer Fire Department; the Dapper Dan Club of Allegany County; a life member of Cumberland Elks Lodge 63, and the Cresaptown Eagles Aerie 2883.
Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley A. Chisholm; his sons: Richard S. Chisholm and wife, Yvette, Gaithersburg, and David E. Chisholm and wife, Sheri, Frederick, Md.; his grandson, Tyler J. Chisholm; and his granddaughter, Alicia A. Chisholm, both of Frederick.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, MD (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ron Reaves officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent in Jack's name to Homewood of Williamsport, 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, MD 21795.
