Josephine Larue Swain, 87, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Williamsport Retirement Village.
Born Sunday, Oct. 25, 1925, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Humer O. Williamson and the late Dorothy M. (Zombro) Williamson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Henry Swain Sr.
She was a very dedicated employee of Washington County Hospital, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Trinity Bible Church.
Josephine truly had a heart for helping others and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her two daughters, Elmina Richardson of Pensacola, Fla., and Towanna Barnes of Greencastle, Pa.; grandchildren, James Harper II, David Harper, Michelle Burdick, Larry Richardson Jr. and Joel Richardson; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and her beloved pet, Daisy.
Services will be Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Betty Jones officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
