The Sharpsburg Lions will welcome guest speaker Tamara Nuzzaci Park, executive director of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, to its Thursday, Feb. 7, meeting.
Dori York will talk about services offered by the Family Center at the Thursday, Feb. 21, meeting.
This month, the Lions will also attend a pie call at Reeders Memorial Home on Tuesday, Feb. 5, and a Valentine’s Day party at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Pancake supper planned
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 209 W. Main St., Sharpsburg, will hold a pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu consists of pancakes, sausage and applesauce. The community is invited. The cost will be by donation.
Potomac Valley Fire Co. will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the fire hall.
The breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, coffee and juice.
Tickets cost $6 for adults. Those ages 5 and younger eat for free.
Horse show to be held
The Saddles ’n’ Spurs 4-H Club will sponsor the Washington County Open Model Horse Show at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center’s multipurpose building Sunday, Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The show is open to those ages 18 and younger.
After 36 years in business, Sally and Gary Haas sold the Boonsboro Pharmacy to another locally independent pharmacy Dec. 31.
Gary and Sally would like to thank those from Boonsboro, Keedysville, Rohrersville, Sharpsburg, and other surrounding areas for their continued support over the years.
Sally and Gary hope that their loyal customers will continue to support their community pharmacy.
Kavanaugh to lead class at senior site
Registered nurse Ita Kavanaugh will present a class titled “Food Allergies” Monday, Feb. 25, at the Little Antietam Community Center, 40 Mount Vernon Drive, Keedysville.
Sandy Ferris and Marcia Davies will conduct exercise classes Wednesdays and Fridays. Manager Martha Drennen will host regularly scheduled activities, including bean bag toss, bingo and horseshoes. Blood pressure screening occurs monthly.
Coffee, conversation and newspaper begin daily at 9 a.m.

St. Mark’s to sponsor series
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Lappans, will sponsor a six-week series titled “Conversations on Faith and Life” beginning Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the church’s fellowship center.
Participants are invited to a simple meal followed by a 20 minute DVD presentation. Small group discussion follows with a group session at the end of the evening. Registration is required and seating is limited.

The Boonsboro High Class of 1977 will hold a dinner party Saturday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Texas Roadhouse, 120 S. Edgewood Dr., Hagerstown.
