But instead of attending a celebration with the rock star on Saturday, April 13, he'll be in Hagerstown raising money to fight breast cancer.
Borreson, a Redken global artist, will be the creative force behind An Evening of Hope-Fashion for a Cure, a hair-inspired event benefiting Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley.
The show is being sponsored by Bella Salon & Spa of Hagerstown, in partnership with The Maryland Theatre, where the fundraiser will be held.
A silent auction will kick off the evening at 6 p.m., followed by the hair fashion show at 7.
Christy Turner, salon director, said the event is being modeled after Redken symposiums held in Las Vegas, where the latest trends in hair, makeup and clothing are presented in a high-energy format.
She and her sister, salon owner Tammy Shindle, have attended those shows and wanted to do something similar in Hagerstown.
"But we wanted to add another dimension to the event," Turner said. "We wanted to raise money to fight breast cancer."
Turner said the event is particularly personal to Shindle, who lost her mother-in-law to the disease and has a sister-in-law who is a breast cancer survivor.
"We also have a lot of clients who have had breast cancer," Turner said. "So we understand how devastating this disease can be."
At the same time, she said, "we know how much support Breast Cancer Awareness - Cumberland Valley has provided women in our community and the great work that they do on a daily basis. We wanted them to benefit from this event."
Turner said the show won't be your traditional fashion show, especially when Brent Borreson is involved.
He has been a Redken performing artist and exchange facilitator since 1998 and has been a stylist for fashion shows around the world, including Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City and the runways of Giorgio Armani, Cynthia Rowley, Marc Bouwer, Baby Phat and Betsy Johnson.
His work has been featured in music videos, as well as major publications, including Salon, British GQ, Elle, Rolling Stone and Seventeen Magazine.
His celebrity list includes Paris Hilton, Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson and he has worked with recording artists Lady Gaga, Bjork and The Pretenders.
Lending his hand to fundraising events such as the upcoming "Evening of Hope" is nothing new to Borreson, who has participated in such international events as The Alternative Hair Show in London that raised more than $8.5 million for leukemia.
"It's really cool to have someone like Brent be a part of this event," Turner said.
Turner said the evening will include four style scenes, including Trends, Hollywood Glam, Warrior and Finale.
The show will feature stylists from Bella Salon & Spa, Turner said, and models will include some of the business' clients, as well as models from L&M Modeling and Talent Agency.
Clothing will be provided by local businesses, including Potomac Bridals and the latest fashions from Hagerstown Premium Outlets.
Turner said organizers hope the fundraiser will be held again in the future, perhaps every two years.
"A lot of work has been involved," she noted. "But this is something we really wanted to do. Tammy and I are from Hagerstown and feel that it's really important to give back to our community."
