Brawley Union High School graduate and 2011 sixth-round NFL draft pick Mike Mohamed was waived by the Denver Broncos this afternoon, according to the Denver Post.
Mohamed, who played on special teams primarily last season and who was part of Denver’s linebacker corps, was among several cuts today to reduce the Broncos’ roster to the 52-man regular season maximum.
Mohamed, who graduated from BUHS in 2006, was a standout player for the Cal Bears. In his rookie season with the Broncos, Denver made the 2011 playoffs and advanced to the divisional round before losing to eventual AFC Champion New England Patriots.
