DALLAS—At 12:01 a.m. on Friday, most Metroplex theaters had special screenings of the most anticipated film of the summer, "The Dark Knight Rises."
But the Studio Movie Grill in Dallas took the experience to a whole new level Thursday night and into Friday morning, showing a marathon of all three of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films.
"There is nothing like sitting in a movie theater with a bunch of extra hardcore fans like we are, there is no experience like that," said Ricardo Dorado as he waited in line to grab a seat in the theater.
"If I don't see Batman in all three films, I"ll probably kill myself," said Keith Collins.
Another man, who would only identify himself as "Batman," explained why he had to see all three films.
"I want to see if they got my good side," said "Batman."
Studio Movie Grill is as much about the food as it is the films, and when moviegoers planned on spending close to eight hours in a theater Thursday night and into Friday morning, having a good dining game plan was essential. There was the "Improviser."
"No game plan for food. Just all winging it," said Dorado.
The "Eat Then Drink."
"Probably get an appetizer during the first movie, entree later on when I'm hungry again, drink all night," said Spencer Stratman.
"I just want to watch the movie, the third one, just no distractions, no food," said Collins.
And what could only be described as the "Batman."
"Three meals. Three desserts. I need energy," said "Batman."
Watching The Dark Knight on a night to remember.
"So, 20 years from now, you're looking at, 'What did you do July 19, and they are going to remember coming to Studio Movie Grill to watch one of the best comic books series that is ever going to be made," said Zark Hopkins with Studio Movie Grill.
