The first person that would offer a warm hello was Amy Landers.
“We got up at 3 o’clock this morning and drove from Mount Pleasant, about 2 ½ hours east of here to get here in time,” said Landers.
She woke up extra early to be the first person to meet Kardashian.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to meet one of the Kardashians, and Khloe is my favorite Kardashians,” Landers told CW 33 News.
Landers was at the front of a very long line. Kardashian later tweeted that the line was more than 3,000 people deep.
The line wrapped all the way around Dallas City Hall and at the back of the line was Sarah Rosario.
“I didn’t know what to expect. I knew there was going to be a lot of people, but I’ve never been to anything like this, so I didn’t know it was going to be this many people,” said Rosario.
Unlike Landers at the front of the line, Rosario chose to sleep in.
“I was thinking maybe come here at like 9, but I didn’t wake up early enough, so now I am going to have wait in this line,” said Rosario.
Shortly after noon Wednesday, the wait ended, and Kardashian made her first public appearance in Dallas since her husband Lamar Odom was traded to the Mavericks.
“Thank you guys so much for coming out. I’m new to Dallas,” Kardashian told the crowd.
Then the meet and greet began. While everyone at the event got just a moment with the starlet, they also brought something for the children at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, per Kardashian’s request.
“For her to be here such a short period of time in Dallas and to have reached out to us to really help the children, we are just exceptionally excited at Children’s Medical Center,” said Noelle Dugan with Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
As the crew from her reality TV show filmed her every move, Kardashian for two hours signed and smiled and was sweet to everyone who came up to greet her.
“I love all of the Kardashians, we’ve always watched their shows. She is so pretty and nice and we love her,” said Farrah Fahim.
