Hey, at last Astros fans officially got to tailgate before a home game.
Astros nation is relishing this golden opportunity to tailgate outside of Minute Maid Park for the first time ever.
"We're pretty excited so hopefully there will be more to come after this one," Rodney Malchor, an Astros fan enjoying the tailgating experience, said.
"I think this is going to be a great start to a great season," said Rick Malchor, who's also a huge Astros fan. "I mean we've got a good crowd coming in [for the first ever tailgating experience here]. Hopefully the first [of many tailgating trips] but not the last."
During the offseason, the Astros made the decision to offer tailgating, for a least one game, after listening to fans.
"I'm just glad they started tailgating with the Astros," Jesus Rosales, on hand for the tailgating experience, said.
The Astros told the Fix that they're testing this tailgating option to make sure fans like it, and if they do the organization said it will consider keeping tailgating around for select dates during future home games.
"I think that would be great for the fans, especially for the fans, and it would bring a lot of people out here to see downtown and what a great city Houston is," Diana Flores, a Houstonian, said.
From the looks of the first ever tailgating experience for the Astros, keep it going because fans are loving it so why not?
