The New York State Fair features a butter sculpture every year and with the fair over, the butter, instead of being left out to melt, will be broken down into bio-diesel fuel.
The butter has been sitting out too long to be consumed by people, so it's converted into a fatty acid by the students from the College of Environmental Science and Forestry at the State University of New York.
The 900 pounds of butter will become 100 gallons of fuel to be used by various eco-friendly vehicles on the campus.
Looks like that yellow butter just got a little bit greener.
