Brazil—
You know the fictional story, get bit by a spider and you'll turn into Spiderman. Well, a spider's venom could soon help with a guy's shortcomings. A new study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine says that the toxin PnTx2-6 comes from the bite of a Brazilian Wandering Spider. Researchers stumbled on this hard evidence after men in Brazil started showing up to the hospital in a lot of pain and ready to go camping under their tent if you catch our drift. Turns out, they had been bitten by the spider. And the only spidey-sense they got was a better sense of direction---up! That led to scientists testing the toxin on rats. And things look up on the rats, too.
Experts say the toxin works differently than other erectile dysfunction treatments, but it's still too early to tell if it's safe to use in humans; or if there's any major side effects.
