Two men were arrested Monday night when an Oregon State Police trooper discovered nearly 12 pounds of marijuana in the car. It happened on Interstate 5 in the Salem area. They found the pot inside the car after a routine traffic stop.
On August 29, 2011 at 11:03 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2008 Dodge Charger displaying Arizona license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 253 for a traffic violation. The car's two occupants were identified as driver Anthony James Hosney, age 40, from Surprise, Arizona, and passenger Timothy James Lambrecht, age 52, from Anchorage, Alaska.
Subsequent investigation with a drug detection canine led to the discovery of nearly 12 pounds of marijuana concealed inside the vehicle. The marijuana has an estimated value of $30,000.
Both suspects were arrested without incident and lodged in the Marion County Jail for Unlawful Manufacture, Possession and Delivery of Marijuana.
