SANTA ANA -- Police in Santa Ana are looking for a man who allegedly tried to drug two 13-year-old girls and held the, in a storage facility for several hours.
The incident began around 5 p.m. Wednesday when the man, said to be in his 20s, offered to give the girls a ride in his vehicle.
He then drove them to Public Storage at 400 S. Grand Avenue, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertanga.
The man tried to get the girls to take unspecified illegal drugs, Bertanga said.
One of the girls got away and told her friend's family about the incident, but the other girl was held by the man until her family showed up at the storage facility and confronted the suspect.
The suspect got away, and police were notified at about 8:30 p.m.
Detectives describe the man as thin, about 5 feet 7 inches, with black hair and brown eyes. He had spiked hair with short, faded sides, and was wearing a polo shirt and black pants.
