The PACE Early Childhood Education Center on Aldama Street in Los Angeles is starting a brand new school garden with the help of a $1,000 garden grant from Western Growers Foundation. The school garden grants are awarded through a competitive grant program.
Recently, Western Growers Foundation distributed $100,000 in grant funds to 100 lucky preschools and child care centers in California. The PACE garden is just one example of the 100 preschool gardens that will be sprouting up all over california.
The preschoolers at the PACE garden will help plant fruits and vegetables, including carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash etc.
