NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) -- The body of a woman found in a dumpster in San Diego has been positively identified as missing Newport Beach woman Quee "Q.C." Chadwick.
A passer-by found the body in a dumpster in the 12000 block of Wildcat Canyon Road in Lakeside.
46-year-old Quee "Q.C." Chadwick, who was allegedly killed by her 48-year-old husband Peter Gregory Chadwick.
Peter Chadwick, a prominent real estate investor, was arrested last week at the San Ysidro border crossing and accused of killing his wife for financial gain.
But Chadwick claims another man killed "Q.C" and forced him to load the body onto a truck, then drive his own car toward the Mexican border.
Police began searching for the couple last Wednesday after they failed to pick up their three boys from school.
When officers entered their $2.5 million Newport Coast home Wednesday, they found blood and evidence of a struggle inside, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors say Peter Chadwick drove to San Diego on Wednesday or Thursday and contacted the San Diego Police Department. He was arrested by Newport Beach detectives Oct. 11.
Chadwick is charged with one felony count of special circumstances murder for financial gain.
His bail was initially set at $1.5 million, but it has since been revoked. Chadwick faces a maximum of life in state prison if convicted.
Anyone with information is asked to contact NBPD Detective Bryan Moore at (949) 644-3764 or Supervising District Attorney Investigator Randy Litwin at (714) 347-8492.
