Sacramento—Suits, slacks, dress shoes, and collared shirts might sounds like clothing items you wear every day. But millions of Americans simply can't afford them and have nothing formal to wear to an interview.
This idea inspired businessmen and women in Sacramento to clean out their closets and donate their forgotten formal wear to the company's "Suit up for Success" suit drive.
"A professional look not only affects the way people see you but how you see yourself," said Steven Cook, the Men's Wearhouse V.P. of Community Relations. "And from this suit drive is that extra boost of confidence. Like a spike in their self esteem."
The company has held suit drives in the past, but this is the first one in Sacramento. They say the need here is so crucial because of the state's high unemployment rate. It's currently at almost 13 percent.
