Keith Gabrielse had 28 points for short-handed Ontario Christian (1-0), which is still missing seven players who are still playing playoff football. Bobby Nigg, a freshman, added 12 points and 13 rebounds. Upland Christian (0-1) was led by J.P. Stephens, who scored 15 points. Ontario Christian will play Webb on Friday night in the semifinals.
Adventist 71, Coutin 22
Tramell McInnis had 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists and four steals to lead visiting Adventist (3-0, 2-0) to its third consecutive win and second in Mulholland League play. Chris Miller added 10 points and 15 rebounds, and guard Joel West keyed a stout defensive effort while also tallying 11 points and seven assists. Adventist had a 50-11 lead at halftime. Coutin fell to 0-1, 0-1.
Bell Gardens 75, El Rancho 74 (OT)
Mark Soto hit a three-pointer with five seconds left to lift host Bell Gardens. Soto, a senior wing, finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and five steals. Center Ruben Jimenez finished with a game-high 28 points and 12 rebounds for Bell Gardens.
Bobby Abina got a steal and layup for El Rancho (1-2) to pull within one, but the Dons were unable to convert after a miss free throw by Bell Gardens. Manuel Flores was El Rancho's leading scorer with 22 points, followed by Rudy Navarrete with 16.
Charter Oak 64, Arroyo 36
Frank Ragsdale tossed in 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead host Charter Oak over Arroyo in the season opener for both teams.
Flintridge Prep 62, Blair 41
Andrew Beck scored 17 points and Darin Nakauchi added 13 for host Flintridge Prep in the season opener for both schools.
Northview 61, South Hills 32
Senior forward Jimmy House had 17 points with 11 rebounds for host Northview (1-0). South Hills fell to 1-1. Northview led at the half, 31-17.
Sage Hill 54, Rio Contiguo 43
Matt Loper had 28 points to lead host Sage Hill (2-0). Lionel Garcia had 25 points for Rio Contiguo (0-1).
