Several big plays and a very big player kept the Indians (7-0, 2-0) undefeated and on top of the Freeway League standings.

Fullerton (4-3, 1-1) took a 14-3 lead just before halftime on a five-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Xavier Hicks to tight end Darren Fells on a timing play in the end zone where the 6-8 Fells leapt over the defender to make the catch. The play was set up by an 88-yard punt return by Ricky Reynoso.

Fullerton extended its lead to 18 points with a 14-play, 81-yard scoring drive that opened the third quarter, then got a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown from Hicks. He picked up a nice block on La Habra quarterback Danny Morales from teammate David Allen that sprang Hicks the final 25 yards up the La Habra sideline.

It was Hicks' sixth interception of the season. He also passed for two touchdowns.

Fullerton running back Brian Allen ran for 147 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown run. But his 60-yard run for an apparent score was nullified by a penalty. Fullerton had a 52-yard fumble return by Jose Miranda for another apparent touchdown also called back on a penalty.

Morales, under heavy pressure from Fullerton's defense all night, passed for 151 yards, but was thrown for rushing losses seven times.
