  7. Two Michelin-star chef Jason McLeod, formerly of Ria, surfaces in San Diego

    The timing was strange. After chef Jason McLeod won two Michelin stars at Ria last November, shocking the Chicago dining scene but mostly himself, McLeod unexpectedly left the restaurant three months later. The Elysian Hotel’s press release noted his departure with a curiously-brief acknowledgment: “McLeod has decided to pursue other opportunities and is no longer with the Elysian’s culinary team.” He disappeared from public view, and attempts to contact McLeod proved unsuccessful. Conspiracy theorists had a field day.
