1. How to host a Baltimore-style Mediterranean tapas party

The success of Tapas Adela, Centro Tapas Bar and Baltimore’s other tapas spots are a testament to the Charm City’s love of small plates. If you want to share the joy of Spanish cuisine with friends, stop trying to wrangle them to a restaurant and throw your own tapas bash.

  5. Host an Orlando sangria and tapas party

Florida has a lot in common with Spain, with its warm weather and citrus-infused flavors. So what could be more perfect for an Orlando garden party than sangria and tapas? Nothing is more refreshing than sangria on a hot Florida day. Spain's popular...

  7. Set Up Your Orlando-Style Sangria and Tapas Party

Nothing refreshes on a muggy Florida afternoon like a pitcher of sangria. And the beauty of tapas is that many of the dishes don't need cooking, so you can stay out on your Winter Parkpatio or your downtown Orlando balconyn and relax. Setting Up To host...

From the mixed berry sangria at La Tasca to the sparkling sangria at Tapas Adela, the Spanish drink has taken root in Baltimore and become a summer sensation. With so many varieties, it’s a great drink to experiment with at home and share the result with friends.

  13. How to set up your Baltimore sangria and tapas party

A tapas party at home should be just as leisurely as a dinner at Pazo at Talara. Unlike those restaurants, however, you won’t have a team ready to put everything you're serving together once guests arrive, so make sure to leave yourself enough time to get ready.

  17. Different& delectable

Not so long ago, Italian, Chinese and Greek food were considered delicacies. Now they're take-out (and even chain restaurant) fodder, and Baltimore's international dining offerings have expanded to every continent, save Antarctica. (Perhaps that's...

  21. The finest of Spain's fatty fruits, right here in Connecticut

There's this unfortunate (and hilarious) thing that happens on cooking shows, where the hosts say things like "oh, it's like an explosion in my mouth!", or they make ridiculous, exaggerated moaning sounds to indicate just how delicious the food they're eating happens to be. Because I am basically Beavis, or Butthead, or any of the characters from Hot Tub Time Machine, trapped in the wrong body, all I can say is "that's what she said" and titter uncontrollably when things like this happen.

  23. Belt 'em Back at Umi Sushi & Tapas in West Hartford

The concept's pretty simple: sit your butt down and order a drink, and as food passes right in front of your face, grab what you want and scarf it down. You can always check out Umi Sushi & Tapas' website to see what's on the conveyor belt at any given point, if you're picky (right now, it's various rolls, including one called "Angry Alaskan Roll"). The fun's in seeing what comes your way. Just remember to pass on some of the stuff before you overindulge.
