PERSONALS: WHO'S WHO & WHAT'S UP
All hail return of 'Spamalot'
"Monty Python's Spamalot," the hit musical that had a successful pre-Broadway tryout in Chicago last winter, has made plans to return to the city of its birth in the spring.
After an initial stand in Boston, the first national tour of "Spamalot" (a spoof of the spoof movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail") will play Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre April 18 to June 4.
Because the show is slated to open June 7 in Washington, an extension of the Chicago engagement is unlikely. Tickets are not yet on sale, and casting has not yet been determined. Plans also are reportedly afoot for a Las Vegas version of the show--most likely at the Wynn Hotel, where creator Eric Idle was spotted last month checking out the theaters.
