A visually stunning trailer is generating buzz on this adaptation of Frank Miller's epic graphic novel that tells the story of the battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. Zack Snyder ("Dawn of the Dead") directs a cast including Gerard Butler ("The Phantom of the Opera"), Lena Headey ("The Brothers Grimm") and Dominic West ("The Wire"). But the real stars here are the CGI sets and effects.
KNOCKED UP (June 1)
Judd Apatow's "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" was one of the best comedies of recent years. His follow-up feature reunites three of that film's cast members—Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann—and adds "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl to the mix for the story of a man who discovers his one night stand got pregnant.
SHOOT 'EM UP (September 7)
What if Clive Owen had agreed to play James Bond? We might get an idea of what could have been in this no-holds-barred action thriller. With classy costars Paul Giamatti as the villain and Monica Bellucci as the girl.

Ping-pong comedy Balls of Fury (Spring), from the creators of "Reno 911!"; Across the Universe (Spring), a teen romance set to the music of the Beatles; Keira Knightley and James McAvoy in literary adaptation Atonement (August 31); "Boogie Nights" director Paul Thomas Anderson's first movie in five years, There Will Be Blood (Fall); Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Eric Bana in the period romance The Other Boleyn Girl (Fall); a raft of cool actors including Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Heath Ledger in hipster indie I'm Not There (Fall), inspired by the life of Bob Dylan; Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal in CIA drama Rendition (Fall); and Enchanted (November 23), the story of a fairy tale princess come to life starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey.
