Man, what on earth to do with all those empty 55-gallon oil drums once we're done with them? If you're a non-profit called Oil Drum Art, you get 40 of 'em into the hands of regional artists, like Corina S. Alvarezdelugo (whose "Paradox of Plenty II" is shown above), and let 250 inner-city students create their own trash-drum artworks. Then you donate the whole thing to Hartford's iQuilt plan for deployment in the city's parks. Until May 26, the painted drums will hang out at Union Station. Head to the opening reception on April 27 to hear what CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel Esty has to say about the project.
