14-year NFL veteran Phillip Daniels, a defensive end with the Washington Redskins, announced on Twitter on Tuesday night that his son, DaVaris, had verbally committed to Notre Dame.
DaVaris Daniels, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver out of Vernon Hills (Ill.) High, had also been considering Randy Shannon's Miami Hurricanes.
Here is Phillip Daniels' direct tweet: "Proud to announce that my son DaVaris has committed to Notre Dame. Congrats to him on his decision. ND got one hell of an athlete."
Daniels is Notre Dame's 20th verbal commitment and the only wide receiver to this point.
