The Petoskey High School boys golf team is headed to the state finals for the first time since 2009.
The Northmen shot 332 Thursday at the 12-team Division II regional at The Pohl Cat in Mount Pleasant to finish third, claiming the tournament's third and final state qualifying spot.
Big Rapids won the tournament with a 328 team score, while Mount Pleasant was second with 330. The Northmen edged the fourth-place team by two strokes.
Petoskey, Big Rapids and Mount Pleasant will play in the state finals on Friday and Saturday, June 15-16, at Katke Golf Course on the campus of Ferris State University in Big Rapids.
Hunter Pualski shot 80 to lead the Northmen, while Tyler Speigl posted an 81, Caleb Dann carded an 83, Kam Friedli shot 88, and Cam Ludlow finished at 94.
Blaze Hogan of Big Rapids shot 71 to claim medalist honors. Pulaski finished in a tie for eighth.
At the Division IV regional at River's Edge in Alpena, Bennett Langton of Harbor Springs shot 78 and Kirk Muller of Harbor Light shot 82 to qualify for the state finals as individuals.
The Division IV state tournament is June 15-16 at Forest Akers West on the campus of Michigan State University in Mount Pleasant.
Muller, a sophomore, is the first player in the five-year history of the Harbor Light program to qualify for the state finals.
Harbor Springs finished fourth in the team standings with a 352 team score, while Harbor Light was sixth with a 363.
The top three teams at each regional advance to the finals.
Lake Leelanau St. Mary, which is ranked second in the state coaches poll, shot 314 to win the regional at River's Edge, followed by Suttons Bay, 326; and Frankfort, 345. Suttons Bay is ranked seventh.
Lake Leelanau St. Mary teammates Paul Bandenhagen and Joel Sneed both shot 74 to share medalist honors. All five St. Mary players placed in the top 17.
Other Harbor Springs scores: James Adams, 85; Stewart Bower, 94; Adam Cavitt, 95; Kerry Fitzpatrick, 95.
Other Harbor Light scores: Mike Muller, 88; Josh Walker, 89; Zac Curtis, 104; Josh Curtis, 114.
Inland Lakes shot 362 to finished fifth, Alanson-Pellston shot 406 to place 10th, and Mackinaw City shot 413 to place 12th.

Will Hasseld and Daneil Hunter of East Jordan, both individual qualifiers in the Division IV regional, shot 92 and 106, respectively. Wolverine's Kyle Frost, also an individual qualifier, shot 113.
Boyne City shot 413 to place 12th in the Division III regional at Lakeside LInks in Scottville.
Sophomore Bradley Fouchia shot 87 to lead the Ramblers, while Jacob Knitter shot 107, followed by Ben Halstead, 109; Skyler Davis, 110; and Steven Halstead, 112.
Stanton Central Montcalm shot 342 to win the team title in the Division III regional, followed by Ludington, 351; and Roscommon, 352.
Hunter Mires of Roscommon shot 81 to claim medalist honors.
Chandler Novotny and Brad Rizzo of Charlevoix, both of whom qualified for the Division III regional as individuals, shot 91 and 96, respectively.
The Division III finals are at Forest Akers East on the MSU campus.
