L.A. Councilman Mitchell Englander won't face ballot opposition

Los Angeles City Councilman Mitchell Englander will not have an opponent on the ballot as he runs for reelection on March 3, officials said Thursday. Englander, who is seeking his second four-year term representing the northwest San Fernando Valley, was the only person to turn in a petition with voter signatures to qualify for the race. Without an opponent on the ballot, he is almost certainly ensured a victory.
